Benjamin Caplan, MD
Ongoing access to a physician, researcher, and educator at the center of cannabis medicine, regulation, and real patient care.
Beyond a single consult
Many teams reach out when a deadline is close, a regulator is watching, or a public opportunity arrives too quickly. By that point, the right medical voice can still help, but there is little room to think creatively, test ideas, or build trust with your stakeholders.
Continuous engagements with Dr. Caplan are designed for leaders who want to align their work with modern cannabis medicine in a calmer, more deliberate way. They give you reserved time with a physician who understands policy, business, and patient reality, and who can help you make decisions that hold up over time.
What a constant engagement provides
Reserved time each month on Dr. Caplan’s calendar so your work is planned, not squeezed in.
Flexible use of hours for education, strategy, case discussion, content, or meetings as priorities evolve.
High trust collaboration with a physician already advising state agencies, funds, enterprises, and complex families.

- High level advisory support for executive teams and stakeholder coalitions
- Priority scheduling for time sensitive needs within the allotted hours
From time to time, partners need support that goes beyond the hours in their selected tier. When calendar space allows, additional hours can be added on a month to month basis and are billed at the same consulting or expedited rates, with clear approval before work begins.
Additional hours are not guaranteed and remain contingent on Dr. Caplan’s clinical, research, speaking, and family commitments.
How hours are used
Education development, clinical program design, case review, strategic planning, copywriting, meeting attendance, campaign support, and preparation for talks or key presentations.
Rates and structure
Standard consulting is billed at one thousand dollars per hour. Original work, new intellectual property, projects required within five days, and any publicly visible or legal consulting work are billed at two thousand dollars per hour. Time is tracked in thirty minute increments, with a six month minimum for all tiers.
Use of name, image, and endorsement
Ongoing consulting does not automatically include the right to use Dr. Caplan’s name, image, or story in external marketing or as an endorsement of any product, event, or individual. Any public use of his name, likeness, or statements for promotional purposes requires a separate written agreement that clearly defines scope, approvals, and limitations.
Overflow and extra hours
When needs occasionally extend beyond pre reserved hours, additional time may be added, subject to calendar availability. These hours are billed at the same consulting or expedited rates and are confirmed in advance so expectations and costs remain clear on both sides.
