UK Medical Cannabis Registry: An Updated Analysis of Inflammatory Arthritis
This study followed 192 adults in the United Kingdom who had long-lasting pain from arthritis and were given medicinal cannabis by a private clinic. Each person filled in questionnaires about pain, mood, sleep and daily life over two years. The researchers looked at how these answers changed over time.
Cannabidiol treatment in hand osteoarthritis and psoriatic arthritis: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial
Low-dose oral synthetic cannabidiol (20-30 mg daily) failed to provide clinically meaningful pain relief or improve sleep and mood scores compared to placebo in patients with hand osteoarthritis or psoriatic arthritis. Integrative clinicians should recognize that conservative low-dose CBD monotherapy is unlikely to suffice for moderate-to-severe arthritic pain, and higher dosages or full-spectrum formulations should be formally evaluated in future adequately powered trials.
