The bidirectional nature of the cannabis-anxiety relationship, as suggested by the data, underscores the importance of thorough psychiatric history-taking, individualized risk stratification, and ongoing symptom monitoring when cannabis is part of a patient’s treatment context or self-reported use pattern.
